My name is Lora and I’ve recently been hired as the Volunteer Coordinator/Community Liaison. I am going to start blogging regularly about volunteering at NCCS and ongoing trends in volunteerism. We’ve been making a lot of changes to our volunteer services and hopefully soon we will start offering orientation sessions to give volunteers a stronger connection to NCCS. Another project we are working on re-establishing is Project Literacy. We are going to start offering training sessions for tutors, so they can learn how to teach other adults how to read and write. If you are a current NCCS volunteer or would like to start volunteering at NCCS, I would love to hear your feedback on the volunteer opportunities we offer.
