Saturday December 27th from 1-4 is our Winter Reunion. This is a great chance to catch up with your friends from the summer. It looks like we will have snow so be ready for some sledding, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. It has been quite cold so we could have some opportunities to go ice skating on either Pickerel Lake or Hidden Lake. Many of you staff from the summer will be there as well. We will also have a fire going to roast some s’mores and warm up with some hot chocolate.

The new lodge is moving along and you could get a chance to see it in the process. We will be taking a hard hat tour of the lodge to give you a sneak peak of what you can expect this summer.

How do I participate in such a fun day? Go to www.campnewaygo.org and download the registration form and send it into Nicole. This is open to the whole family or you can bring a friend to enjoy the day with you. Please make sure you include a valid email address that...

Well, we are well underway with our Lang Lodge Renovation. First, let me start out by thanking everyone who came out and helped to empty out the Lodge. We had about 40 volunteers including the Newaygo Football Team. Many alumni stayed Saturday night in the Lodge where they shared memories and sang songs. It was also great to have the support of some of our 2008 LIT’s and Staff. Thanks for your help Sara Lanning, Ellen Fisher, Topher Wilkinson, Sarah Kane and Jessie Waite!

Now let me catch you up on what has been happening. The first week of renovations started out with some mixed feelings as Council Rock came down. The new bathrooms will be wonderful but it is still hard to see something that has been there for so long come down. Then they started digging out the new basement addition and jacked up the dining porch as they excavated underneath it. There was a lot of moving around of dirt! Next the walls were poured, plumbing laid in the basement and then floors poured.

Since it...

I can’t believe it but resident camp is over for the summer. Thank you to all who attended and made this a summer to remember. We hope to see you all back next year. A special thanks to the LIT’s who not only assisted the counselor’s but also cleaned up our old basketball courts and created new Acorn Courts for use. We would love to have you back as full blown counselor’s next summer!

If you are missing camp already (I know many of you are) don’t miss out on other opportunities to experience camp with your family. Our fall fest and Ground Breaking for Lang Lodge will be Saturday September 27th and we will be having our Winter Reunion again this summer on the weekend between Christmas and New Year’s (more details to come). These are great times to enjoy camp during other season’s so I hope to see you all there.

This year’s log book theme was “Take me back to the Happy Place”. Our beautiful cover was made by Courtney and the dedicator was Roxy. We had many deserving staff that could have been recognized but the book was dedicated to our LIT director Ashley, our appreciation was Team Office, Christy and Kelly, and our rookie of the year was Jenny. Thank you all for you hard work and I will be displaying the log book proudly at camp fairs this winter so stop by and take a look!
