In a national study done on Big Brothers Big Sisters programs, it was found that children who participate in one-to-one mentoring programs are:

*46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs

*27% less likely to begin using alcohol

*52%less likely to skip school

*More confident of thier performance in school work

*1/3 less likely to hit someone

*Better in thier relationships with family members
