Final Registration Deadline Fast Approaching for Mud Bowl Mania

To that end, they are offering a Community Career Fair for Hart and Walkerville high school students to connect with business representatives and expand their knowledge of career opportunities.

NCCS Project FOCUS and NCCA Collaborate on Art Projects

With funding for school arts programs continuing to decline, the NCCS Project FOCUS program has increasingly tried to bridge the gap between what is not available and what is possible. On May 7, FOCUS Administration and Site Coordinators teamed up with staff from the Newaygo County Council for the Arts (NCCA) to learn about some great new art projects for the Project FOCUS students in the elementary schools in Baldwin, Hesperia, White Cloud, Hart, and Walkerville.

NCCS Camp Newaygo – Uncommon Experiences Close to Home

Ever wanted to learn how to fence, windsurf, or cook pizza over a campfire? For over 80 years, NCCS Camp Newaygo has been offering girls a unique, rustic, summer camp experience that you would normally have to drive hours to get to. Camp’s 101 acres of facilities rests along Pickerel Lake which is snuggled in the Manistee National Forest, near the town of Newaygo - in other words… right in your own back yard!

NCCS Sends Area Students on Art-Themed Field Trip

On May 3rd, a group of 79 students and 9 teachers from 6 Newaygo County schools took a field trip to Fredrick Meijer Gardens and Kendall College of Art and Design. The field trip was part of the NCCS A.R.T.S. programs, designed to supplement Newaygo County schools’ visual arts curriculum.
