Recently, fourteen White Cloud high school students had the opportunity to participate in a rather unique art workshop offered through their after-school Pace program. Partnering with the Newaygo County Council for the Arts (NCCA), the PACE program brought in an instructor to teach a glass fusing workshop.

Featuring five creative and unique projects, the Women’s Artisan Retreat at NCCS Camp Newaygo, February 26 – 28, is the perfect weekend get-away to energize your creative side. In 1994 Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, designating the King Holiday as a national day of volunteer service. Instead of a day off from work or school, Congress asked Americans of all backgrounds and ages to celebrate Dr. King's legacy by turning community concerns into citizen action. With no end in sight to the economic downturn in our nation’s economy, many Michigan residents are unsure how they will afford the increased cost of maintaining heat and energy during the upcoming winter months. Thanks to the Northwest Michigan Rural Service Partnership (NMRSP) area low-income households will have access to additional financial assistance this cold weather season.
