Every year, students in the 7th - 12th grades may enter artwork into the NCCS, county-wide Student Art Scholarship Contest. Students may enter individual pieces for recognition ribbons, or 8th - 11th graders may enter portfolios with the winners recieving a "scholarship" for a 4-day arts-emersion trip to Chicago during the first week of summer vacation. Each year, a guest adjudicator - typically a college arts educator, judges the show and hands out Outstanding Recognition, Outstanding Senior, and the Scholarship Awards (along with Alternates for the Scholarship trip). Additionally, the NCCS Cultural Enrichment Director, representing the typical arts-buying public, presents Director's Choice Award ribbons
See your middle or high school art teacher or call the NCCs Cultural Enrichement Director for full details.
