Advocacy

What is advocacy?

Simply, it means speaking up for what one believes in. NCCS believes in grassroots efforts and advocating for an issue or policy you believe in, which will positively impact the local level, and perhaps impacts you, is in the essence of grassroots. Empower yourself and you can make a change.

Educating yourself is an important step in advocacy. Many are unaware of how the three branches of government works. We have provided a brief summary of the process.

Importance of Volunteer Advocacy
NCCS staff can advocate for our missions’ priorities, however, unless the legislators are also hearing from you - their constituents - in support of these priorities, they aren’t going to pay that much attention. Partnerships among staff and volunteer are necessary for advocacy success.
